This tour is one of the best things to do in St Augustine. Enjoy a visit to the most important landmarks through three historic periods: Discovery and Conquest, Spanish and British periods, and the Flagler era.
First enjoy an informative and fun trolley ride. Old Town trolleys offer an open cabin to allow you to feel the breeze but are covered to provide shelter from the Florida sun and the St Augustine weather. The trolley will cover 15 of the 24 stops located on the north part of the city to serve as an introduction to your St Augustine experience. You will pass by the Mision Nombre de Dios, site of the spot where Pedro Menendez came to land in 1565 and founded St Augustine; the St Augustine fort dating from 1695; the St Augustine City Gate; Hotel Ponce de Leon and Lightner museum and the St Augustine Distillery and the St Augustine Winery.
After the initial trolley ride, your guide will show the Plaza de la Constitucion as you make your way across the street to the Municipal Marina to board the Victory III for a 75 minutes narrated boat tour.
During the narrated boat tour you will cruise by the St Augustine fort, Castillo de San Marcos and the St Augustine lighthouse and observe the St Augustine Fountain of Youth site in the distance. In addition you will observe birds and marine species including dolphins.
Once on land, your guide will show you the art district; the US oldest street, Aviles street; the Lightner Museum with its impressive garden and it magnificent indoor swimming pool and will finish with a visit to Flagler College, formerly the Hotel Ponce de Leon to admire its impressive vestibule and rotunda and take a glance of the world famous Tiffany glass windows observable from the vestibule.
After the guided walking tour you will have a chance to finish the trolley tour or spend time in downtown St Augustine at your leisure and enjoy the trolley for two additional days included in the price of the tour. You are welcome to use the trolley pass to visit St Augustine beach on the Old Town Trolley beach shuttle.
What to Expect
Narrated trolley tour with a stop to board the Victory III for a 75-minute narrated boat tour of Matanzas Bay followed by a 60-minute walking tour of downtown St. Augustine including a visit to Flagler College formerly the Hotel Ponce de Leon and Hotel Alcazar, nowadays the Lightner Museum.
Capture unique pictures of Castillo de San Marcos, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, bridge of Lions and other important sites from the water.
